Qualifications

• Degree in construction management, engineering, business, or a related field.
• 5+ years estimating experience in utility, power delivery, transmission or heavy civil construction.
• Experience preparing estimates for overhead transmission line projects from 69kV to 765kV.
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed labor, equipment, material, subcontractor, and indirect cost estimates for overhead transmission line construction 69kV–765kV.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from drawings, specs, structure lists, bills of material, and bid documents.
• Develop estimates for transmission construction activities including foundations, structure assembly and erection, conductor installation, and restoration.
• Analyze methods, productivity, crew compositions, equipment requirements and site conditions to set pricing.
• Solicit, evaluate and incorporate vendor and subcontractor quotations into estimates.
• Develop bid schedules using Primavera P6 or similar tools and ensure consistency with proposed schedules.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, scheduling and operations during estimating to validate quantities and methods.
• Maintain and improve historical cost databases and estimating templates.
