Job summary

AES Corporation seeks a Summer Engineering Intern in Ohio to gain hands-on experience across transmission engineering projects. You’ll work with professionals on design, field verification, and data updates to support the electric grid and energy transition.

The ideal candidate is pursuing a four-year degree in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering, with sophomore status or higher and familiarity with Excel, PLS-CADD or SolidWorks.

Qualifications

• The candidate is a student pursuing a four-year degree in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering.
• Sophomore status or higher is preferred.
• Experience with design software (PLS-CADD, SolidWorks) and Excel is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design high voltage transmission line facilities to support AES Ohio system improvements.
• Participate in field visits to verify topography and coordinate with construction crews.
• Update discrepancies between prints/schematics, databases and system models.
• Shadow and learn from other engineering teams as assigned.
