Job summary

Georgia Power is seeking a Technical Training Instructor to support the Power Delivery Distribution Training organization. The role focuses on delivering and maintaining training programs for Basic Line Skill and New Hire Journeyman programs, covering construction, operation, maintenance and repair of high voltage distribution systems.

Travel across Georgia and Southern Company regions is required, with possible overnights and weekend commitments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Extensive experience in Overhead and Underground Distribution Construction and Maintenance.
• Six years Line experience preferred along with a minimum of two years’ experience as Journeyman.
• Previous experience in a training role delivering presentations to a group audience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Champion safety and act as a safety champion for employees.
• Help develop and maintain training programs as SME for Power Delivery.
• Regularly review student performance and provide developmental feedback.
• Provide SME input on work methods, materials, equipment and tools for distribution systems.
• Serve as a liaison to field representatives on technical and operational issues.
• Participate in storm restoration as needed.
