Job summary

Georgia Power, the Georgia-based utility, seeks a Sr, Technical Training Instructor to support the Power Delivery Distribution Training program from entry through journeyman levels, focusing on high-voltage systems. The role involves travel within Georgia and Southern Company regions, with potential overnights and weekends, and the use of a company car for work.

Hotel lodging may be available for long-distance assignments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Extensive experience in Overhead and Underground Distribution Construction and Maintenance.
• 6 years Line experience preferred with a minimum of two years as Journeyman.
• Previous experience in a training role delivering presentations to a group audience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Champion safety, act as a safety champion for employees through teaching and coaching.
• Develop and maintain training programs as SME for the Power Delivery Organization.
• Regularly review student performance and provide developmental feedback.
• Provide SME input on work methods, materials, equipment, and tools for high-voltage distribution systems.
• Serve as a liaison to field representatives for technical and operational issues.
• Provide technical expertise on committee assignments.
• Serve as an FRC/ACS during storm restoration or perform damage assessment.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Extensive experience in overhead and underground distribution construction and maintenance

6 years line experience with Journeyman

Experience delivering training presentations
