Job summary

Stellant Systems, Inc. is seeking an experienced Equipment Engineer in Torrance, CA to design, modify and build specialized test equipment for testing Traveling Wave Tubes (TWTs) and hi-pot safety gear. You will troubleshoot high-voltage supplies and work with a repair team to maintain complex STE assets.

The role emphasizes hands-on design and documentation, with collaboration across vendors and internal teams to deliver reliable high-voltage test solutions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of electronic troubleshooting experience designing and fabricating test equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting high-voltage power supplies up to 60 kV is a plus.
• Proficient with DMMs, oscilloscopes and power meters for diagnostics.
• Knowledge of data acquisition units, three-phase resonant conversion theory, and network interfacing is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication; able to work in a fast-paced team.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to vendor sites.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; eligibility for security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, modify and build specialized test equipment (STE) for TWT testing.
• Oversee documentation and fabrication of all STE, coordinating with vendors.
• Operate and troubleshoot high-voltage test gear and power supplies (~60 kV).
• Collaborate with repair group to maintain equipment reliability and performance.
