Job description

Stellios Technologies is building advanced high power microwave and energy systems for defense, aerospace, and energy.

We are hiring a High Voltage Technician to build, wire, insulate, and operate the electrical systems that power everything we make.

This is a hands-on build role. You will have tools in your hands and energized hardware in front of you, on real systems that run up to a million volts.

What You Will Own And/Or Support
  • Wiring harness fabrication, routing, dressing, labeling, and strain relief across the whole machine
  • High voltage cable termination, potting, splicing, and standoff and bushing installation
  • Epoxy encapsulation, potting, insulation systems, and the surface prep and cure discipline that makes them hold
  • Assembly of high voltage power supplies, modulators, and pulsed power hardware up to one million volts
  • Capacitor banks, energy storage assemblies, charging systems, and the safety hardware around them
  • Transformer, magnetics, and inductor assembly and installation
  • Grounding, bonding, shielding, and corona control on hardware that does not tolerate sloppy work
  • Setting up and operating energized systems for test - safely, repeatably, and with the interlocks and grounding discipline the job requires
  • Hipot, megger, partial discharge, and continuity testing, and keeping honest records of what you measured
  • Troubleshooting when a system arcs, tracks, flashes over, or simply will not come up to voltage
  • Working directly with the engineers who designed the hardware, and telling them when a design cannot be built the way it was drawn
Who We Are Looking For

You must have real, hands-on high voltage experience. This is not an entry level role and there is no substitute for having done it.

The Kinds Of Places This Experience Comes From
  • National labs and accelerator facilities such as SLAC, and their contractors
  • Power supply and power electronics manufacturers such as TDK-Lambda
  • Pulsed power, directed energy, and defense primes and neo-primes
  • Electric vehicle and automotive high voltage manufacturing such as Tesla
  • Industrial and medical X-ray, semiconductor equipment, and utility or substation work

No degree is required. We care what you have personally built, wired, potted, energized, and fixed. A strong technician with three good years beats a coasting one with fifteen.

You need to work from wiring diagrams, schematics, cable and harness drawings, and assembly instructions without an engineer standing over you.

You must have the safety discipline this work demands. Lockout tagout, grounding sticks, interlocks, and the habit of never trusting a system you have not personally grounded.

This role requires access to U.S. export controlled information. Candidates must qualify as a U.S. person under applicable export control laws, including U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees.

This role is on site in Southern California.
