Job summary

Dominion Energy is offering an internship at the Locks TSB in Petersburg, VA, focusing on high voltage electrical equipment installation, maintenance, and repair. Interns will work with experienced teams to gain hands-on experience in substation and power station operations as part of the Electrical Equipment Development Program.

Responsibilities include assisting with testing, procurement activities, and various lab and field tasks, with travel up to 25% and emphasis on teamwork, problem

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Engineering Technology, Electric Utility Substation & Relay Technology, or a related engineering or technical discipline.
• Must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher.
• Must have an anticipated graduation date of Spring 2028 or later.

Responsibilities

• Assist with testing of substation equipment (transformers, breakers, regulator, CCVT) and associated equipment.
• Support procurement of materials, spare parts, and tools for field work.
• Assist with infrared testing, DGA review, transformer/circuit breaker oil sampling, and transformer processing.
