Job summary

DEPCOM Power, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, seeks a Construction Superintendent for high-voltage substation and transmission projects in Altoona, KS. You will lead field execution, manage subcontractors, and drive safe, on-time delivery from site prep through energization.

You will develop lookahead schedules, ensure contract compliance, and report progress to stakeholders while coordinating with Civil, Mechanical, and PV Electrical teams to optimize sequencing and minimize delays.

Qualifications

• Experience with high-voltage electrical systems, including substations or transmission lines.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and specifications.
• Experience managing subcontractors and ensuring contract scope, schedule, and quality.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage subcontractors executing high-voltage substation and transmission work, ensuring safe, compliant, and high-quality installation.
• Oversee the full HV construction lifecycle from site preparation to energization readiness.
• Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards across all HV scopes.
• Develop and enforce a 3-week lookahead schedule for HV activities.
• Maintain schedule, budget, and contract compliance while identifying and resolving risks.
• Verify subcontractor work aligns with drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Provide daily reporting on progress, risks, and subcontractor performance to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Civil, Mechanical, and PV Electrical teams to optimize sequencing.
• Coach and develop field teams and subcontractors in PBM principles.
