Job summary

Transmission & Distribution World seeks a skilled High Voltage Electrician to perform installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of equipment in substations and switchyards up to 69kV and higher. The role includes switching operations, oil processing equipment, and climbing structures.

The candidate will train apprentices and collaborate with crews to ensure safe, cost-effective operations under demanding weather and travel conditions.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated journeyman level capability in high voltage power systems (69kV+).
• Experience with switching, testing, and maintenance of substation equipment and control systems.
• Ability to operate and interpret oil processing equipment and large industrial gear safely.

Responsibilities

• Install, construct, commission, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair high-voltage equipment in substations and switchyards.
• Perform switching in high voltage environments and manage line and substation wiring.
• Provide guidance and training to apprentices and other craft employees.
