Job summary

HITACHI ENERGY USA INC is seeking an R&D Quality Engineer to ensure quality excellence in NPI projects and product enhancements for high‑voltage equipment. You will work with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and certification teams to ensure compliant design, validation and release processes.

The role requires strong analytical skills, experience with core quality tools, and a hands‑on mindset in a fast‑paced, international R&D environment. Collaboration across global teams is essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Quality Engineering (or related field).
Experience in electro‑mechanical industry, preferably with medium- or high‑voltage equipment for substations.
Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems and structured NP I frameworks (Stage-Gate, APQP).
Practical experience with FMEA, DFM/DFA, PPAP, RCA, and other core quality tools.

Responsibilities

Lead quality execution across NPI projects from concept to release, ensuring milestones and verification requirements are met.
Integrate quality objectives into project planning across development phases for new and existing products.
Drive proactive quality risk management with CTQ characteristics and Quality Control Plans.
Coordinate audits (ISO 9001/14001/45001), track findings and close corrective actions.
