Hitachi Energy USA Inc. is seeking a Senior High Voltage R&D Engineer to join a collaborative team focused on the design, development, testing and validation of high‑voltage circuit breaker technologies that support critical energy infrastructure worldwide.

You will work on translating customer requirements into practical engineering solutions, lead technical work packages, review specifications, and contribute to product qualification decisions in an international environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electro‑mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience in power systems, utilities, substations, or high‑voltage equipment applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to development of new and existing high‑voltage circuit breaker technologies.
• Translate customer and application requirements into practical engineering solutions.
• Support international R&D projects and lead technical work packages when needed.
• Review non‑standard specifications and evaluate equipment suitability for customer applications.
• Conduct product performance evaluations, inspections, and root cause investigations.
• Define test requirements and support electrical and electro‑mechanical testing programs.
• Analyze test results and develop technical reports to support product qualification and design decisions.
• Identify innovation opportunities and support patent and intellectual property activities.
