Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Alamo, TN is seeking a Test Specialist to join our team. This role tests power bushings up to 230 kV and ensures products meet design specifications and industry standards while following all safety procedures.

You will read safety procedures and assembly drawings, perform tests, document results, and communicate findings to supervisors, design and manufacturing engineers. The position requires an Associate’s degree or two-year certificate and two years’ experience in testing

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or two-year certificate in engineering technology, industrial electricity, electronics technology or related field.
• Two years’ experience in product testing or quality assurance or closely related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Read and comprehend safety procedures, work instructions and assembly drawings.
• Test condenser bushings to applicable specifications to meet industry standards and customer requirements.
• Work with bulk bushings, oil-filled and epoxy condenser bushings with porcelain or HTV silicone insulators, machined aluminum and copper components, glass and epoxy sight bowls, mineral oil, ethyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol and cleaning solvents.
• Able to communicate test results and/or failure modes effectively to supervisor, design or manufacturing engineer, or quality department.
• Continuously train on new equipment or new processes required to test power bushings
• Able to regularly pick up and manipulate up to 35 pounds safely
• Accurately document and communicate test results and failures.
