Job summary

NACCO Natural Resources' Freedom Mine in Beulah, North Dakota, is seeking an experienced electrician to repair and maintain electrical mining equipment and facilities. This on-site role requires reading manuals and schematics, working with high voltage systems, and adhering to MSHA and environmental regulations.

You'll inspect, troubleshoot, and repair AC/DC circuits, install and remove power cables, and ensure safe operation of switchgear.

Qualifications

• An associate’s degree in electrical and/or equivalent experience is required.
• MSHA Green Card certification or ability to obtain a certification is preferred.
• Knowledge of National Electric Code and MSHA regulations.
• Ability to read electrical prints and schematics.
• Experience with PLCs and Variable Frequency Drives.

Responsibilities

• Repair electrical mining equipment and facilities.
• Perform electrical inspections and document findings.
• Maintain low, medium, and high voltage systems safely.
• Connect, disconnect, and switch high voltage power cables.
• Troubleshoot AC and DC circuits.
• Operate equipment to diagnose problems and test after repair.
• Follow MSHA regulations and company safety procedures.
• Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
