Job summary

NextEra Energy Resources is seeking an HV Strike Team Technician I to support the NEER fleet in planned NERC outages, high-voltage maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and PRC-028 compliance work.

The ideal candidate will read DC schematics and relay drawings, work with field teams and vendors, and coordinate resources to complete outages safely within defined windows. The role requires 40–50% travel to Renewables sites and may include night, weekend, or holiday support.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Valid Driver's License (NON-CDL) required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine work in the construction and maintenance of all substation, transmission, and collection system equipment.
• Read and interpret DC electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams and relay drawings.
• Coordinate resources, logistics, and field issue resolution to ensure safe outages within defined windows.
• Support site readiness reviews and walkdowns, and verify access, safety, LOTO, outage, and equipment requirements.
• Oversee vendor installation of Digital Fault Recorder equipment and related systems.
• Document as-found conditions, test results, and closeout records for compliance and audit readiness.
• Travel 40%–50% and provide night, weekend, or holiday support when required.
