Job summary

Tempo is seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Electronics Technician to join our team. In this role you will assemble, test, troubleshoot, and maintain complex electronic systems, focusing on high power and high voltage equipment in a San Diego environment.

You will work closely with engineers to ensure reliability, safety, and performance of HV components, power supplies, inverters, and related control systems, with a strong emphasis on documentation and quality.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or military equivalent in electronics-related field.
• 3–5 years in electronics manufacturing, testing, or maintenance with HV experience.
• Proficiency with HV/test equipment and safety practices.
• Knowledge of power conversion topologies and IPC standards.

Responsibilities

• System Testing & Calibration: test and calibrate high power electronic systems.
• Troubleshooting & Repair: diagnose malfunctions in power electronics and HV systems.
• Assembly & Installation: read schematics to assemble HV panels and subsystems.
• Safety Compliance: follow LOTO, arc flash, and NFPA 70E standards.
• Maintenance: perform preventative and corrective maintenance on test fixtures.
• Documentation: log test data and write failure analyses.
• Collaboration: work with engineers to prototype power systems and suggest improvements.
