Job summary

Giga Energy Inc. is seeking an Electrical Tester at our Long Beach, CA facility. You will own the testing environment, perform high-voltage and functional checks, and ensure switchboards meet safety and specification standards before leaving the factory floor.

This role demands meticulous adherence to procedures and self-management to hit tight shipping deadlines. You will work with a production team on site, performing ground bond and hi-pot tests, verifying SLDs, and finalizing safety

Qualifications

• Safety & step-by-step procedures are mandatory for high voltage work.
• Reading and interpreting electrical single-line diagrams (SLDs) and wiring schematics.
• Self-motivated, works well without supervision, accepts overtime when shipping deadlines loom.
• At least 1 year hands-on experience testing switchboards or switchgear systems.
• Strong ownership: manages testing bay with authority to prevent defective products passing.
• Experience in a high-growth startup or fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent, plus technical certification in related field.

Responsibilities

• Master the testing environment, secure the area and verify breakers and fuses are open before testing.
• Execute ground bond testing with proper safety steps and accurate readings.
• Run hi-pot testing and dielectric withstand sequence per procedure.
• Verify that all system components match SLD and wiring schematics.
• Run live functionality tests with 480VAC to validate real-world operation.
• Apply safety labeling and warnings after successful test completion.
