Job summary

Giga Energy is seeking an Electrical Tester at our Long Beach facility to own the testing environment for high‑voltage switchboards. You will execute Hi‑Pot tests, ground bond procedures, and live functionality checks to ensure safety and reliability before shipment.

We require a basic electrical background, SLD reading skills, and a strong ownership mindset. The role offers overtime opportunities in a fast-paced startup environment with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Safety & detail-oriented approach to high voltage testing.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical single-line diagrams and schematics.
• Self-motivated with minimal supervision and willingness to work overtime.
• At least 1 year hands-on experience testing switchboards or switchgear.
• Strong ownership of testing bay to prevent defective products passing.

Responsibilities

• Secure testing area and verify circuit breakers and fuses are open before testing.
• Perform Ground Bond testing following safety procedures and record readings.
• Execute Dielectric Voltage Withstand (Hi-Pot) tests and manage sequence steps.
• Verify that breaker ratings and SLDs match wiring schematics.
• Connect 480VAC source to test real-world functionality of components.
• Apply safety labels and warnings after testing completion.
