Job summary

Group CBS in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a High Voltage Apparatus Specialist to perform inspection, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, reconditioning and commissioning of low, medium, and high‑voltage electrical apparatus. The role is primarily shop‑based with occasional travel to customer sites and substations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in electrical testing, maintenance, or related power industry work.
• Experience with low-, medium-, and high-voltage apparatus.
• Ability to pass background, motor vehicle, drug, and alcohol screenings.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, retrofit, and test high‑voltage equipment including 480V–72kV breakers.
• Operate testing equipment such as primary/secondary injection sets and insulation analyzers.
• Complete PEARL and PowerDB reports accurately and on time.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Follow OSHA, NFPA 70E, PEARL, NETA and safety requirements.
• Support project planning, scheduling, cost control, and maintain tools and vehicles.
• Occasional travel to substations and customer sites.
