Job summary

Group CBS, Inc. in Indianapolis seeks an experienced electrical substation technician to perform mechanical and electrical tasks on equipment used in power transmission, distribution, and generation.

You will assemble, troubleshoot, repair, replace and clean components, while adhering to national and local electrical codes and Premier Power policies. This role requires reading schematics, installing cables and transformers, and working with protective relays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; military experience preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years in electrical substation construction.
• Ability to read manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Willingness to travel overnight for multi-day projects and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Execute mechanical and electrical tasks on substation equipment at customer facilities.
• Read and interpret manuals and schematics to install electrical apparatus.
• Install power cables, circuit breakers, protective relays, and transformers.
• Operate bucket trucks, digger trucks, cranes, and related tools safely.
• Participate in preventative maintenance outages and safety trainings.
