Job summary

General Motors is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the TRP Requirements and Controls Design team, focusing on diagnosing internal battery hardware failures that could cause thermal runaway. Responsibilities include coaching engineers, fostering innovation, and delivering robust, safe solutions within an Agile framework.

The role requires a strong background in embedded control systems, data analytics, and HV battery safety, with leadership across multiple teams and a commitment to safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering required, with focus areas in software, electrical, mechanical, data science or computer science.
• Minimum 7 years of engineering experience in embedded control systems, data analytics or safety-critical development.
• Strong background in Electrification Systems, Battery HV or Thermal Runaway propagation.
• Track record of successful project execution and leadership across multiple teams.
• Excellent cross-functional communication and leadership to align teams and represent the organization in forums.
• Familiarity with software development processes and requirements/controls design.

• Collaborate cross-functionally on strategic initiatives and roadmaps.
• Build internal and external partnerships for alignment on plans.
