Redwood Materials in the United States is seeking an Abuse Test Technician to support high-voltage battery testing, teardown, and failure analysis. This hands-on role involves tearing down battery packs, setting up tests, and documenting results.

You'll work with engineers and safety teams, follow HV safety protocols, and maintain a clean lab environment while contributing to battery durability research.

Qualifications

• Experience with high-voltage systems, battery modules, or power electronics is required.
• Hands-on mechanical assembly and disassembly experience.
• Strong knowledge of high-voltage safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Ability to read and follow technical drawings and test procedures.
• Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform abuse tests on battery modules and packs (thermal, electrical, mechanical).
• Disassemble packs to analyze components and failure modes.
• Set up tests per procedures and ensure repeatability.
• Install sensors and harnessing on packs and fixtures.
• Document test results with notes, photos, and reports.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure safe, effective testing.
• Maintain a clean, organized lab and proper storage of tools.
