Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Chemical Texturing Equipment Engineer for Starlink solar cell production in Bastrop, TX. You will own and optimize wet chemical texturing tools and preclean equipment used to manufacture silicon heterojunction solar cells at very large scale.

You will collaborate with the Texturing Process Engineering team to maximize tool availability, uptime, and performance, driving reliability across a high-volume manufacturing line for Starlinks and related missions.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in a technical discipline from an accredited institution.
• 2+ years owning and maintaining chemical process equipment in high-volume manufacturing.
• Experience handling flammable, toxic, corrosive, and/or hazardous chemicals safely.

Responsibilities

• Install, qualify, maintain, and improve high-throughput texturing and preclean equipment for heterojunction silicon solar cell manufacturing.
• Drive reliability and uptime to support large-volume production; run experiments and analyze data to improve capacity and reduce variation.
• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, spare parts programs, and tool matching for high-volume manufacturing.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions on equipment-related issues including chemical delivery systems and robotics/automation.
• Collaborate with Process Engineers to implement new requirements on existing and future equipment platforms.
• Evaluate next-generation high-throughput texturing tools capable of supporting 1GW+ per tool scale production.
