Job summary

EarthOptics is seeking a Part-Time Production Technician - Sample Prep in Emeryville, CA. The role focuses on operating automated sample prep systems, loading soil samples, and maintaining a clean, compliant lab environment.

We offer a part-time, non-exempt position with variable shifts and a starting wage of $22 per hour. Onsite work, safety first, and a collaborative team culture are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Follow SOPs and safety procedures with PPE.
• Basic computer/IT troubleshooting and hand tools.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety guidelines.

• Comfort with large volumes of soil and slurry.

Responsibilities

• Load 200–300 soil samples per day into automated prep systems.
• Receive and sort samples based on analysis ordered.
• Keep production spaces clean, organized, and compliant with safety SOPs.
• Maintain high throughput and operate the waste slurry pipeline and pumps.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Stand, walk, sit, reach, bend, talk, hear, and use hands as needed.
