Job summary

Antora Energy is seeking a Materials R&D Process Technician to join the materials development team at GrafTech facility in St. Marys, PA. You will set up and run tests on production-scale furnaces, operate DAQ systems, and document every experiment with precision.

The role requires an associate degree or higher in a technical field, 3+ years in a hardware R&D lab, and comfort working on site in varying environments. Strong data, safety, and collaboration skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher in a technical field or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 3+ years of hardware R&D lab, test lab, or similar hands-on environment.
• Direct experience operating furnaces, kilns, ovens, or other high-temperature equipment.
• Familiarity with data acquisition systems, instrumentation, and technical documentation.
• Strong documentation habits including lab notebooks and test reports.

Responsibilities

• Experiment execution with production scale furnaces and high-temperature equipment as per engineer-defined test plans.
• Install, configure, and operate DAQ systems, thermocouples, and sensors to capture temperature and material response data.
• Maintain detailed notebooks and compile data summaries, charts, and observations for the engineering team.
• Perform routine calibration, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs on instrumentation and tools.
• Keep experimental area organized, stocked, safe, and compliant with protocols; track consumables.
