Qualifications

• PhD in Materials Science and Engineering or related discipline completed by appointment start.
• Ability to obtain DOE Q clearance; US citizenship required.
• Track record of publications in high-impact journals with microstructure characterization.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hands-on research on high-temperature composite materials.
• Characterize microstructure using SEM/TEM/XRD and mechanical testing.
• Develop models to understand sintering and microstructure evolution.
• Collaborate with INL researchers and external partners on materials for harsh environments.
• Prepare and publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals.
