Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and progressive experience in project accounting or project controls.
• Progressive experience in project control, project accounting, or cost accounting, with experience in engineering/construction projects, preferably in AEC/high-technology.
• Proven proficiency with Excel (formulas, pivot tables, charts); VBA/macros a plus.
• Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint/Vision and scheduling tools (MS Project/Oracle Primavera).
• Hands-on experience with Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint, Oracle Primavera, SAP Project Systems; data extraction and reporting experience preferred.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey financial information to diverse audiences.
• Salary range: $65,000–$80,000/year plus bonus opportunities and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Set up projects in Deltek Vantagepoint, including phase/task structure, billing terms, rate tables, revenue methods, and budget loading at discipline/labor level.
• Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections with project managers and discipline leads.
• Implement and oversee WBS and cost coding for accurate cost allocation and reporting.
• Establish financial baselines and reporting frameworks for high-technology industrial projects.
• Identify and analyze potential cost overruns, variances, and risks; provide timely reporting to management.
• Maintain detailed project schedules.
• Review vendor proposals and issue purchase orders with procurement.
• Support internal audits related to project finances.
• Analyze cost impacts of schedule changes and delays; provide financial implications.
• Produce complex financial reports (budget vs. actual, forecasts, variance analysis, EV if applicable, cash flow).
• Review client invoices for accuracy and explain variances with the Project Manager and PAC.
• Present financial analyses to project teams, management, and clients; highlight risks and opportunities.
• Support the change order process with cost implications and proper documentation.
• Track and report on the financial status of change orders; secure approvals.
• Serve as primary contact for project-related financial inquiries from internal teams, clients, and subcontractors.
• Participate in project team meetings with timely financial updates and recommendations.
• Collaborate with project managers, discipline leads, and stakeholders to align financial goals.
