Job summary

Amtrak is seeking a High Speed Trainset Machinist Technician in the District of Columbia area. After training on mechanical systems, undercarriage power components and control systems, you will inspect, repair or replace components and troubleshoot to determine corrective actions and causes of failures.

You will train team members and other trainset mechanics, with knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and you will work in a collaborative environment to maintain safety and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Work Keys certification and completion of High Speed Trainset training course.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair or replace components and troubleshoot equipment to determine corrective action and causes of failures.
• Train other trainset mechanics in operation and repair of systems.
• Work in a team environment and perform other duties as needed within craft scope.
