Job summary

Southwire Company, LLC in Huntersville, NC is seeking a motivated helper/operator to assist in operating a high speed strander to produce stranded cable on specified packages. You will join a two-person crew and work under the Stranding Supervisor to ensure smooth, efficient production.

Qualifications

Must be trained to operate the high speed strander after successful training of helper training sheet.
Must be willing to work on a fast paced machine with constant attention to safety, quality, speed, and scrap.
Will work as part of a 2-person team and take direction from operator and supervisor to keep the line running.

Responsibilities

Help/operate the high speed strander with metering equipment, take up capstans, take up winding unit and payoff unit; portable welder unit, grease and blasting cabinets where applicable, using overhead cranes/loaders, various size wooden or steel reels, dies, micrometers, portable power back saw, tape, bolt cutters, forklift and small tools.
Must be willing to work on a fast paced, highly focused machine that will have constant attention given to safety, quality, speed, and scrap.
Will operate as the helper mainly, while on occasion acting as the operator in case of call-off, as part of a 2-person team under supervision.
