Qualifications

  • VHDL firmware coding and simulation experience.
  • Python and C++ programming experience.
  • Experience designing and debugging electronics systems from concept to production.
  • Experience with high-speed serial and optical links.
  • Expertise with AMD/Xilinx-based FPGAs.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and be self-motivated.

Responsibilities

  • Support deployed systems, including firmware, software, and hardware design, identifying and debugging issues in the LCLS Data System.
  • Support firmware in FPGAs for front-end detector operation and back-end DAQ systems.
  • Develop system diagnostics to improve stability and deploy them with engineering teams.
  • Suggest and implement feature upgrades in firmware and software.
  • Contribute to early concept designs for scalable diagnostics.
