Job summary

DEKA Research & Development is seeking a PCB Layout Designer to translate schematics into optimized PCB layouts. You will work across multiple projects, ensuring designs meet performance, regulatory, and manufacturability requirements, while vetting components for accuracy in symbols, footprints, and 3D models.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of PCB layout design experience and electrical engineering principles.
• Proficiency with PCB design software (Altium Designer preferred).
• Understanding of signal integrity, EMI/EMC, and thermal management.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes including surface mount and through-hole assembly.
• Familiarity with design for manufacturability (DFM) principles.

Responsibilities

• Create PCB layouts from schematics using industry-standard CAD tools.
• Develop multi-layer boards with high-speed digital and mixed-signal designs.
• Route differential pairs and controlled impedance traces; optimize power distribution.
• Perform DRC/ERC to ensure design integrity.
• Create and maintain library components (symbols, footprints, 3D models) matching datasheets and templates.
• Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to fit enclosures and assemblies.
• Generate fabrication and assembly drawings and bill of materials.
