Job summary

Mars Topeka facility is hiring a Maintenance Technician to maintain, repair, and optimize advanced packaging and processing equipment. The role welcomes military veterans and emphasizes safety, training, and career growth from day one.

You will work on high-speed lines, perform PMs, diagnose complex faults, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while collaborating with operators and maintenance teams on a pivotal manufacturing line.

Qualifications

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent civilian/military education.
Technical degree, trade school certification, or 2+ years of equivalent maintenance experience.
Ability to troubleshoot AC/DC electrical components using meters and testing gear.
Fundamental understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and drawings.
Willingness to work a flexible night-shift schedule and develop welding or machining skills.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance on packaging and processing equipment.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical failures.
Participate on Mars Supply Excellence (MSE) teams and train operators in Autonomous Maintenance (AM).
Own preventive maintenance systems for the assigned line, including planning and scheduling.
Analyze data to support 90-day loss-elimination plans and improvements.
Represent the maintenance team in FMOS daily meetings with machine performance data.
