Job summary

Amtrak in Washington, DC is seeking a High Speed Trainset Machinist Technician. The role requires after training to inspect, repair or replace components, troubleshoot, and train other mechanics in operation and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Relocation offered: No. Travel up to 25%. Health, retirement and other benefits are provided under the union agreement. Pre-employment checks apply. DOT regulations govern drug testing and security screenings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be Work Keys certified and have successfully completed High Speed Trainset training course.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair or replace components on trainsets and troubleshoot equipment to determine corrective action and causes of failures.
• Train other craft members and train trainset mechanics in operation and repair to raise overall skill level.
