Job summary

Henley High School in Klamath Falls, OR is seeking an Assistant Wrestling Coach to support our wrestling program. The ideal candidate will help instruct athletes, organize practices, and implement OSAA-required training and coaching certifications.

You will report to the Athletic Director and work with students and staff to promote sportsmanship, safety, and competitive success. Starting date is immediate; contact the school for details.

Qualifications

• Must obtain training and coaching certifications required by the district and Oregon School Activities Association.
• Contact the Athletic Director for requirements and guidance.

Responsibilities

• Instruct players on rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
• Organizes and directs individual and small group practices activities/exercises.
• Determines game strategy.
• Supervises athletes during practices and competition.
• Follows established procedures in the event of an athlete's injury.
• Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.
• Maintains the equipment and facilities and assumes responsibility for the security.
• Distributes equipment, supplies, and uniforms to students.
• Performs support tasks such as distributing and maintaining eligibility forms, emergency data cards, and other related records.
• Models nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
• Reports directly to the athletic director and school principal.
• Develops lines of communication and support between youth programs.
• Thorough understanding and application of district, league and state policies and procedures pertaining to athletics.
