Job summary

Olympia School District is seeking an Assistant Coach for the High School level to support leadership, supervision and organization of the assigned sport/activity. Requirements include prior wrestling coaching experience at HS level or above, First Aid/CPR, concussion training, and WIAA/OSD training within two weeks of season start.

Qualifications

Experience coaching wrestling at the high school level or above.
First Aid/CPR/Concussion training required prior to first day of practice.
WIAA/OSD training within first 2 weeks of season.
Ability to communicate respectfully with coaches, staff, students, parents and community.

Responsibilities

Provides leadership and organization for assigned sport/activity as directed by the Head Coach and building Athletic Director.
Oversees athletes, managers and support personnel before/during/after practices and events.
Ensures compliance with national, state, league and District rules and regulations.
Reports unsafe equipment/facilities in writing to Head Coach.
Teaches safety procedures daily and completes annual evaluation processes.
Reports injuries and coordinates with Head Coach on return-to-play timelines.
Monitors compliance with OSD policies and WIAA rules.
Reports violations to Head Coach and Athletic Director within 24 hours.
Assists other personnel and participates in meetings as needed.
