Job summary

Bledsoe County Schools is seeking a Welding Instructor to lead welding instruction for high school students in a CTE program. The role includes classroom and shop teaching, preparing students for entry-level employment, and industry credentials while maintaining a safe learning environment.

You will deliver curriculum aligned with Tennessee CTE standards, cover SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW and cutting processes, and guide students through blueprint reading, metallurgy and shop math.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or higher preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years of documented welding/metal fabrication industry experience.
• Hold or be eligible for Tennessee CTE teaching licensure (preferred).
• Valid industry certifications (AWS, NCCER, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver welding curriculum aligned with Tennessee CTE standards.
• Teach welding processes: SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, oxy-fuel/plasma cutting.
• Instruct students in blueprint reading, welding symbols, metallurgy, shop maths and fabrication.
• Maintain a safe welding shop compliant with OSHA and district policies.
• Supervise students, assess performance, and prepare students for credentials (AWS, OSHA 10, NCCER).
• Collaborate with industry partners and CTSO activities; participate in meetings and events.
