Uncommon Schools in New Jersey is seeking a High School Visual Arts Teacher to lead courses in drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, and mixed media, guiding teens to develop a cohesive portfolio for further study and opportunities.

You will collaborate with colleagues, participate in PD, and contribute to an inclusive, high-expectation classroom culture with structured assessments and ongoing feedback.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree required for teaching.
• NJ state certification eligibility within a reasonable timeframe after starting employment.
• Experience teaching in urban schools preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Teach Visual Arts across multiple mediums (drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, mixed media) with opportunities for portfolio development.
• Design engaging lessons aligned to standards and support student growth and artistic skill.
• Collaborate with grade-level teams and participate in school-wide initiatives.
• Foster a structured, inclusive classroom with clear expectations, assessments, and feedback.
• Engage families and integrate art history and contemporary practices into instruction.
