Uncommon Schools in New Jersey is seeking a High School Visual Arts Teacher to lead courses in drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, and mixed media, guiding students to develop cohesive portfolios for postsecondary opportunities.

You will collaborate with grade-level teams, design engaging lessons, and assess student progress while fostering a structured, inclusive classroom environment aligned with school standards.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required.
• NJ state certification eligibility required; certification within a reasonable period after start.

Responsabilidades

• Teach Visual Arts content across multiple mediums (drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, mixed media).
• Design engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons to build technical skills and artistic voice.
• Develop portfolios and prepare students for advanced study or postsecondary pathways in the arts.
• Integrate art history, culture, and contemporary practices to strengthen critical thinking and visual analysis.
• Create assessments to measure student growth and mastery of concepts.
• Collaborate with grade-level teams and participate in school-wide initiatives.
