Job summary

DAKOTA CUSD 201 SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking an Assistant Coach at Dakota Jr/Sr High School to help develop student-athletes, promote sportsmanship, and support athletic activities in line with IHSA/NFHS guidelines.

The role involves assisting head coaches in practices, games, and eligibility monitoring, with emphasis on safety and positive leadership within the district athletic program.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or IHSA coaching qualification.
• Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification or ability to obtain.
• Knowledge of IHSA and NFHS rules.
• Ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents, and community.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, organizing, and conducting practices and games.
• Teach sport-specific skills, strategies, and rules.
• Provide positive instruction and feedback to student-athletes.
• Maintain safe, orderly environment and supervise team activities.
• Assist with equipment, uniforms, and inventory.
• Support game-day preparations and event logistics.
