Job summary

DAKOTA CUSD 201 SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking a Girls Wrestling Head Coach at Dakota Jr/Sr High School. The role focuses on developing athletic skills, discipline and citizenship while ensuring a safe learning environment in alignment with IHSA and NFHS guidelines.

Responsibilities include practice planning, scheduling, equipment management, and ensuring student-athlete eligibility. Strong communication with staff, parents, and officials is essential for program success.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois PEL or IHSA coaching qualification required.
• CPR, AED, and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).
• Previous coaching experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents, and community.
• Knowledge of IHSA/NFHS rules applicable to girls wrestling.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Athletic Director to secure safe facilities for practices and competitions.
• Plan and communicate practice schedules, competitions, and program needs.
• Maintain equipment and uniform inventory; manage program funds as assigned.
• Ensure student-athlete eligibility and compliance with policies and NFHS/IHSA rules.
• Model sportsmanship, leadership, and team values; provide supervision during practices and travels.
