Sisseton High School is seeking an Assistant/JH Coach to support interscholastic athletics under the Activities Director. The role involves planning junior high practices, guiding athletes, and working with the Head Coach and school staff.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree and prior coaching experience; teaching assignment in-building preferred and completion of SDHSAA coursework before first activity contact. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and prior coaching experience preferred.
• High school/college participation preferred.
• Teaching assignment in building preferred; must complete all SDHSAA coursework prior to first activity contact.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the direction and coordination of interscholastic athletics in their school.
• Assistant Coach works with Head Coach to determine athlete participation during practices and games.
• Plans practices and develops all athletes within the junior high program.
• Positively promotes the athletic program within the schools and community.
• Operates within the policies of the District, conference, and the SDHSAA.
• Maintains a staff relationship with other coaches.
• Assists with fund-raising activities as needed.
• Attends required coaching meetings and SDHSAA meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
