Job summary

Bentonville Schools is seeking a High School Teacher to implement district-approved curriculum, assess student progress, and foster a safe, engaging learning environment. You will develop lesson plans, differentiate instruction, and communicate with parents regarding student achievement and goals.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree and Arkansas teaching certification. Experience with data-informed instruction and collaboration within grade-level teams is preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiates instruction based upon student learning styles.
• Knowledge of high school curriculum and concepts.
• Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
• Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
• Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.
• Ability to organize and coordinate work.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
• Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.

Responsibilities

• Develops and administers high school curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
• Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences.
• Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and modifies instructional methods to fit individual needs.
• Instructs students in responsible citizenship and other required subjects while following laws and district procedures.
• Continuously updates professional knowledge by attending seminars, workshops, or research.
• Maintains accurate records, grading, and reporting for student activities as required by district procedures.
• Encourages parental involvement and maintains effective communication with students and parents.
• Ensures student conduct meets school standards and policies; maintains a positive learning atmosphere.
• Coordinates with colleagues to evaluate and assess curriculum and participates in faculty meetings.
• Selects and requisitions appropriate books and supplies and maintains inventory records.
• Supervises students in activities outside the classroom, including transportation-related activities.
• Administers standardized tests in accordance with district programs.
