Title: Teacher

Qualifications:

  • Holds bachelor’s or higher degree and the required Kentucky Teacher Certification and/or endorsement for the assigned position.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with students, colleagues, and others.

Reports To: Principal

Job Goal: To help students learn subject matter and skills that contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible individuals.

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Meet and instruct assigned classes at designated locations and times, ensuring maximum student engagement.
  • Plan a program of study and instructional practices tailored to students' needs, interests, and abilities.
  • Create a supportive classroom environment conducive to learning, appropriate to students' maturity and interests.
  • Prepare for classes and show written lesson plans upon request.
  • Encourage high standards of classroom behavior and achievement.
  • Guide learning toward curriculum goals with clear objectives.
  • Employ diverse instructional practices and resources, including technology.
  • Implement instruction aligned with the district's mission and goals.
  • Assess student progress, communicate with parents, and provide regular progress reports.
  • Use data to identify student strengths and deficits, and adjust instruction accordingly, including for students with IEPs, 504 plans, or intervention needs.
  • Ensure safety precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law and policy.
  • Assist in implementing policies on student conduct, develop classroom rules, and maintain order fairly.
  • Be available to students and parents outside instructional hours when needed.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development.
  • Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
  • Maintain regular attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Terms of Employment:

  • Days of fiscal year: 187 Days
  • Salary Schedule: Determined by Certified Salary Schedule
  • FLSA Status: Exempt

Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated by the Principal.
