Job summary

Albert Lea Area Schools is seeking an Assistant Swim Coach to join our high school program at Albert Lea High School. The role focuses on supporting the head coach, planning practices, and preparing meet logistics to develop student-athletes both athletically and academically.

The ideal candidate has coaching or competitive swimming experience, diving experience, strong communication, and a commitment to a positive team culture in line with district policies.

Qualifications

• Experience in coaching or competitive swimming preferred.
• Diving experience preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to build relationships with athletes, families, and staff.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
• Must meet MSHSL and district coaching requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Coach with planning and leading practices.
• Manage meet preparation and supervision at practices and competitions.
• Promote skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
• Organize team events and communicate with families.
• Ensure a safe, positive environment per policies.
• Collaborate with athletic staff and administration to support student-athlete success.
