Job summary

The Pine-Richland School District seeks a Secondary Orchestra Director (Strings) for Fall 2026 at Pine-Richland High School. The role leads the orchestra, providing instruction and direction to develop a high-quality performing program.

Qualifications

• PA Music Certification or commensurate experience or knowledge of orchestra music and ensemble direction is desirable.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills are required to manage rehearsals, schedules and performances.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Organize and direct the Secondary Orchestra and develop a high quality performing program.
• Maintain student records and inventory of music and instruments.
• Coordinate purchase of equipment and materials and schedule performances.
• Direct orchestra practices and performances and promote the program with feeder schools.
• Oversee participation in district, regional and state festivals and community events.
• Ensure safety and supervision of students during activities and events.
