Job summary

Ponaganset High School in Glocester, Rhode Island, seeks a Strength & Conditioning Coach for the after-school program. You will coach individuals, small groups and teams, and supervise athletes while aligning with RIIL rules and school policies.

You will work with administrators and coaches to schedule practices, monitor safety and equipment, and promote academic and leadership development among student athletes.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching adolescent age students in competitive sports.
• BCI checks updated per district policy (2023-2024) for all coaches.
• Current & valid First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
• NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching course.
• NFHS Concussion in Sports course (annual).
• NFHS Protecting Students From Abuse (annual).
• NFHS RI State Component Course (new coaches).
• NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest course (annual).
• NFHS Implicit Bias course (annual).
• NFHS Student Mental Health and Suicide Prevention (annual).
• NFHS Heat Illness Prevention (annual).
• NFHS Title IX
• NFHS Sportsmanship.
• And/or qualifications deemed substantially equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Coaches individual participants, small groups and teams.
• Supervises team members and teams at all times.
• Maintains knowledge of rules, regulations and district policies.
• Supports academics and leadership development for student athletes.
• Demonstrates professionalism and respect for officials and participants.
