Qualifications

• The candidate should demonstrate the ability to build relationships with students, families and staff.
• Experience working with diverse student populations is preferred.
• Must be resilient, creative and innovative in approaches to working with students of all abilities.
• Experience in education, youth development, or behavioral support is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the special education teacher with the implementation of student individualized learning plans
• Support non-academic needs to remove barriers to academic success
• Monitor students during non-academic periods (e.g., specials, lunch)
• Participate in department, school, district, and/or parent meetings as needed
• Communicate essential information to students, colleagues, and families
• Comply with district, state, and federal requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned by the High School Special Education Teacher or Administration
