Bachelor’s degree, CEAS/CE license, and knowledge of special education regulations are required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with diverse learners are valued. Ten-month position with salary terms to be negotiated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Must obtain CEAS or CE license.
• Knowledge of special education regulations and current trends.
• Ability to use technology (laptops, desktops, data analysis software).
• Ability to work with diverse populations and engage diverse parents/guardians.
• Ability to employ a variety of teaching styles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct instruction to students with disabilities.
• Develops lesson plans/instructional materials and provides individualized and group instruction per IEP.
• Assesses progress using tests and observations; provides progress reports.
• Communicates with parents through conferences, IEP Team meetings, and other means.
• Maintains accurate, complete records and case files as required by regulations.
• Attends and participates in staff/faculty meetings and professional development.
• Contributes to planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods of instruction for students with disabilities.
• Takes safety precautions to protect students and materials.
• Communicates with students about behavioral and academic issues and supports appropriate behavior.
• Promotes a positive, welcoming atmosphere to encourage collaboration.
