Qualifications
- Master's degree in special education or related field.
- New Jersey Teaching Certification is required.
- Special Education/Teacher of the Handicapped certification.
- Experience with individuals with profound autism and behavior challenges.
Responsibilities
- Classroom oversight (8-12 students); IEP development, data analysis, quarterly progress reports, coverage during staff absences.
- Program and curriculum development across academic, self-care, daily living, social/communication, and vocational skills.
- Supervision of teaching assistants; training, feedback, and meetings.
- Identify and manage maladaptive behaviors; collaborate on behavior support plans; crisis management when needed.
