Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or higher preferred.
• Must have passed, or be willing to take and pass, the EST Paraprofessional Assessment (Parapro Test).
• Experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting preferred.
• Knowledge of special education practices, strategies, and accommodations is a plus.
• Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work as part of a collaborative team to support student success.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to students with special needs in individual, small-group, and classroom settings.
• Assist students with assignments, adaptive strategies, and skill-building activities aligned with their IEPs.
• Support students in developing social, behavioral, and organizational skills.
• Implement accommodations and modifications as directed by the special education team.
• Assist with supervision, transitions, and daily routines to promote student independence and engagement.
• Collaborate with teachers, case managers, and other staff to monitor student progress and needs.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold student dignity in all interactions.
