Job summary

Swartz Creek Community School District is seeking a dedicated educational assistant to support students with diverse needs in daily classroom activities. The role includes guidance from teachers and specialists, aiding in the implementation of strategies, and ensuring consistent participation in classroom routines.

The position requires CPI/Ukeru training, strong collaboration with families, and reliable attendance.

Qualifications

Must have a degree or 60 college credits or pass the ETS Parapro test.
CPI and Ukeru training is mandatory for employment.

Responsibilities

Takes guidance from classroom teachers, special education teacher, social worker, and principal.
Provide positive redirection and encouragement to engage in the classroom structures.
Model, foster, and encourage positive engagement between student and classroom peers.
Communicate with all stakeholders, including parent as directed.
Assist in the carryover and independent utilization of strategies being taught.
Works closely with students who have disabilities and/or are at-risk, including medical/academic/behavior needs.
Assist in PBIS support structures development.
Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance required.
Limited lunch and recess supervision duties.
Assist in the development of PBIS support structures.
Assisting in Self-care, Working independently, Time on task support, Work completion support, and Compliance both academically and behaviorally.
